Stacey + Daniel

Tamworth Castle

Wedding Photographer Tamworth

Scott Latham is an award winning wedding photographer Tamworth with a focus on telling your wedding story via a documentary style coverage of your whole day, from bridal prep to after first dance.

Stacey and Daniel chose the historic Tamworth Castle for their wedding and they planned some beautiful elements to fit around their young son, Lincoln, to make the perfect day!

Refortified by the Normans, overlooking the confluence of the River Anker and the River Tame, Tamworth Castle served as a residence of the Mercian kings in Anglo Saxon times, but fell into disuse during the Viking invasions.  The building is today one of the best preserved motte-and-bailey castles in England, and with it’s medieval beauty and stunning grounds, it’s no wonder Stacey and Daniel chose this stunning venue.

It was actually Stacey’s father, Marc, who initially approached me to be the wedding photographer Tamworth and document his daughters wedding. An uncommon occurrence these days as couples tend to organise much the wedding themselves, however, for me it was an extra special honour to be asked to report their day from the brides dad, especially as he is a fellow photographer!

Stacey and her bridesmaids were at the family home preparing for the big day, whilst the couples son, Lincoln, was stealing all the limelight. A quick nerf gun fight and it was time for me to go see the boys!

Surprising looking rather fresh, Daniel and his groomsmen were in high spirits, even if they all seemed a little bit on the nervous side. Suits on, hair slick and Daniel headed to the castle to await his bride…

Daniel waited in the stunning candlelit grand hall of the castle with their guests, as Stacey arrived with her dad in a immaculate early 1900s Austin. Her dress flowed elegantly as she made the walk through the velvet curtain drapes and down through the hall to join her groom.

The ceremony was a wash of tears, promises, ring exchanges and kisses … and suddenly they were Mr & Mrs Ellis!

After some group photographs in the castle grounds, I took Stacey & Daniel in to the flower gardens for some wedding portraits, as their guests made their way to the reception venue. They both looked incredibly happy, with Tamworth Castle making a perfect background to the photographs.

After the wedding meal, there was heartfelt and funny wedding speeches before the guests enjoyed the evening, shared with memories of the couple as youngsters and wishes of good look for the future. And of course with every wedding, the evenings entertainment was provided by the children as they danced and caused harmless mischief.

For the first dance, the guests gathered around and waited for the bride and groom to make their entrance. The couple entertained their guests with a beautiful first dance.

… It was an honour and a pleasure to document Stacey & Daniel’s wedding and an absolute pleasure to look back at the unique day they had in celebrating their marriage.
